The Farm

The 180 acre coastal farm has been family run for three generations producing top quality beef, lamb and arable crops.

The Organic farm runs out to the the rugged coastline, and incorporating several environmental scheme such as the 'Country Side Stewardship' & 'RSBP' in the promotion of wild life along the valley and coastline, and is an area of Special Scientific Interest (S.S.I).

These schemes include protection, encouragement and reintroduction of of the UK's rare Large Blue Butterfly and the maintenance of local bird habitat; along with establishing new tracks and trails along the Tidna & Morwenna Valley.

The area is surrounded in history, originally farmed by the monks the monastic land included the Vicarage Valley before the Dissolution of the Monasteries by Henry VIII in 1538. Many of the original stone walling from this period can still be found among the hedgerows.

More recently in World War 2 the coastline was an important area for the local Anti Aircraft Training base RAF Cleave, with observation points and pillboxes.
