The Farm

Currently undergoing Organic Conversion along with conservation in conjunction with the 'Country Side Stewardship' & 'RSBP' in the promotion of wild life along the valley and coastline. These schemes include protection and encouragement of the UK's rare Large Blue Butterfly and the maintenance of local bird habitat; along with establishing new tracks and trails along the Tidna & Morwenna Valley.
The area is surrounded in history, originally farmed by the monks the monastic land included the Vicarage Valley before the Dissolution of the Monasteries by Henry VIII in 1538. Many of the original stone walling from this period can still be found running along the hedgerows.
More recently in World War 2 the coastline was an important area for the local Anti Aircraft Training base RAF Cleave, with observation points and pillboxes.
